In development — nothing is for sale yet
The tools.
A family of tools for the balance between your days, your nights and your fitness. The first one is the SoluneFit app; the mask experience and the wearable layer are what it reaches out to.
Tool one
The SoluneFit app.
It reads your wearable, learns your own baselines, runs your nights and hands you your data back in open formats. Everything below is either working today in development builds or actively being built — none of it is released.
Sleep & nights Lunar
- Night mode. A calm, dim screen that runs all night and keeps a live sleep estimate updating as you sleep.
- The night graph. Your night drawn out stage by stage — light, deep, REM, awake — each one labeled as an estimate and carrying a confidence level, because that is what it is.
- Smart alarm. A gentle smart-wake window instead of a single hard time, so it can pick a lighter moment near the end of your night.
- Simulated sunrise. The alarm drives a compatible light mask to brighten gradually before the sound ever starts.
- Wind-down. A dimming light-and-sound sequence to close the day out.
- Lucid-dream cueing — experimental. Light and sound cues you train yourself to recognize while awake, then delivered overnight at thresholds personal to you. This is an experiment, offered as one, and results vary a great deal between people.
Days & energy Solar
- Your normal, not a population norm. Baselines are built from your own history. The comparison that matters is you against you last month.
- Daytime signals. Heart rate, heart-rate variability, blood oxygen, skin temperature and steps, followed through the day rather than just summarised at the end of it.
- Morning picture. What last night looked like, and what that tends to mean for the day you are about to have.
- Plain language. A short read-out you can act on, not a wall of numbers you have to decode.
Fitness & heart Pulse
- Heart rate every second. Continuous sampling from a connected band or watch, not a reading every few minutes.
- Beat-to-beat intervals. The raw inter-beat timings underneath heart-rate variability, so the variability figure is yours rather than a vendor’s summary.
- Training against recovery. Your sessions placed next to the nights that preceded and followed them.
- Steps and movement. Daily activity, in the same place as everything else.
Your data Yours
- Stays on your phone. On-device storage by default.
- No cloud account required. There is nothing to sign up for.
- Your own encrypted backup. You choose where it lives and you hold the key.
- CSV and SQLite export. Open, documented formats. Load them into a spreadsheet, a notebook, or whatever you already use.
- Device comparison. Wearing a band and a watch at once? Put the two streams side by side and see exactly where they disagree.
On estimates: a wrist device infers sleep stages from movement and heart signals. That inference is genuinely useful for tracking your own patterns over weeks, and it is genuinely not the same thing as a sleep study. SoluneFit shows you the confidence alongside the answer rather than hiding it.
Tool two — compatible hardware
The sleep mask experience.
Light and sound, delivered where you actually sleep. The app drives a compatible smart mask over Bluetooth. We are not a hardware manufacturer today — this is an experience SoluneFit orchestrates, not a product we build.
- Sunrise wake. Light climbs gradually across your smart-wake window so the alarm sound becomes a formality rather than a shock.
- Wind-down. Warm light fading to nothing, with sound to match, on the schedule your evenings actually follow.
- Dream cues — experimental. Brief light and sound signals, rehearsed while you are awake so you learn to notice them, then played back during the parts of the night the app estimates are most likely to be REM. Thresholds are personal to you and tuned over time.
- Stays in the loop. Everything the mask does is scheduled by the same baselines the rest of the app uses.
Be clear-eyed about this one. Lucid-dream cueing is an experiment. The underlying idea has been studied, evidence is mixed and effects differ enormously between people. SoluneFit ships it as something to try, with a switch to turn it off, and makes no promise about what it will do for you. The longer, more personal version of this story is on Lucidity and me..
Tool three — bring your own
Fitness and sleep tracking wearables.
SoluneFit does not want to sell you a watch. Today it reads wearable data the Android way — through Health Connect, the on-device hub Android uses to move health data between apps — so any watch, band or ring whose own app shares to Health Connect can feed both fitness tracking and sleep tracking. Two devices go further, with a direct connection built just for them.
| How it connects | What it gives | Devices |
|---|---|---|
| Direct Bluetooth | A full read straight off the device, no phone-OS layer in between | The Hume band |
| Direct companion | Beat-to-beat intervals, skin temperature and the raw optical signal, streamed live by a companion app | Samsung Galaxy Watch |
| Health Connect | Heart rate, sleep, blood oxygen and heart-rate variability, plus skin temperature where a maker shares it | Samsung, Google/Pixel, Fitbit, Garmin, Oura, Xiaomi and others, via their own apps |
Apple Watch is not supported. It pairs only with an iPhone, and there is no Android path onto it. SoluneFit is Android-only for now.
How it behaves Principles
- Bring your own. No watch or band to buy from us — use the one you already wear.
- No vendor lock. Nothing is routed through a manufacturer’s cloud on the way to you.
- Two at once is fine. Compare devices side by side and find out which one you actually trust at night.
- Gaps stay visible. If a device dropped out for an hour, the graph says so instead of quietly filling it in.
Questions FAQ
- Does it work with my watch? If its own app can share to Android Health Connect, yes — heart rate, sleep, blood oxygen, HRV and skin temperature where the maker shares them.
- Apple Watch? Not supported. It pairs only with an iPhone, so there is no Android path onto it.
- Do I need a Galaxy Watch? No. The Hume band or any Health Connect wearable works on its own; the Galaxy Watch’s direct mode is extra, not required.
- Where does my data go? It stays on your phone. You make your own backup, and you can export it — CSV or SQLite — any time.
No affiliation. SoluneFit is independent. Device names above describe compatibility only — no logos appear here, and none is an endorsement. Compatibility depends on what each maker’s own app chooses to share.
Roadmap
What’s next.
These are plans, not promises. Order and scope will change as the work teaches us things. Nothing below has a date, because a date would be a guess dressed up as a commitment.
-
Now — the core loop
Reading wearables reliably, night mode, the estimate and its confidence, baselines, the smart alarm, export. Getting this boring and dependable before anything else.
-
Next — early access
A small group of people using it on their own devices, on their own nights, and telling us where it is wrong. No date, no waiting list to sell you.
-
Later — the mask experience, deepened
Better wind-down sequences, finer sunrise control, and more honest reporting of what the experimental dream cueing actually did on a given night.
-
Later — sharper personal models
Estimates that improve as your own history grows, and clearer explanations of why the app thinks what it thinks.
-
Someday — more tools in the family
SoluneFit is meant to be a family, not a single app. What joins it depends on what turns out to be genuinely useful rather than merely buildable.
Nothing to install yet.
That is the honest status. If you want to follow the build, the writing is the place to start.
