Selank

This page describes published research and public regulatory records. It is not medical advice. SoluneFit does not sell, supply, or recommend any compound. The SoluneFit app includes a private, on-device tracker for people who want a record of what they and their clinician have already decided — the app neither suggests compounds nor doses.

Also known as: Селанк, TP-7, Selank acetate, tuftsin analogue.

Regulatory status

Not FDA-approved and not among the seven peptides reviewed by the Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee in July 2026 [2]. FDA lists 'Selank acetate (TP-7)' among bulk substances that may present significant safety risks (immunogenicity from aggregation/impurities; missing safety data) [3] and named it in a 2020 warning letter to a compounder [5]. Registered in Russia (Peptogen) as 0.15 % nasal drops [1].

What it is

Synthetic heptapeptide analogue of tuftsin (anxiolytic).

A synthetic peptide registered in Russia as 0.15 % nasal drops for anxiety, neurasthenia, stress and related sleep problems in adults. It is not approved in the US.

What the published research shows

Small Russian clinical studies, e.g. 62 patients with generalised anxiety disorder or neurasthenia comparing Selank with medazepam; no Western RCTs found.

Published human studies and reports (these describe trial populations, not SoluneFit claims):

  • Anxiety, neurasthenia, stress/adjustment disorders (Russian 0.15 % leaflet): Adults 18 and over: 2 drops in each nostril 3 times daily for 14 days; a repeat course after 1-3 weeks on medical advice.
  • Generalised anxiety disorder or neurasthenia (Zozulya et al. 2008): 62 patients: 30 received Selank and 32 medazepam; anxiolytic effect was reported as similar between groups (Hamilton, Zung and CGI scales). From the indexed abstract; doses, randomisation and blinding not stated.

Mechanism, as reported

Described in the Russian leaflet as an anxiolytic without sedative or muscle-relaxant effects; its molecular mechanism is not established in human studies.

Practical record

  • Studied routes: intranasal.
  • Typical supply: Russian Rx product: 0.15 % (1.5 mg/mL) nasal drops with methylparaben; also sold unregulated online.
  • Reconstitution: Supplied as a ready solution; not reconstituted.
  • Storage: Leaflet: 2-8 °C, protect from light, do not freeze; after opening at or below 25 °C for up to 15 days; shelf life 2 years.

Safety signals on record

  • Reported adverse events: Leaflet: allergic reactions and an unpleasant taste.
  • Contraindications: Leaflet: hypersensitivity, pregnancy, breastfeeding, age under 18.
  • Interactions: Leaflet: no interaction found with haloperidol, pentobarbital, hexobarbital, analeptics or ethanol.
  • Notes: No half-life is published: the leaflet reports intranasal bioavailability of 92.8 % with plasma levels appearing within about 30 s and falling over 5-5.5 min. The amino-acid sequence (Thr-Lys-Pro-Arg-Pro-Gly-Pro) is UNVERIFIED against a primary source here.
